Peter, amigo, no hubieras asistido (Peter, my friend, you should not have attended)

El mérito más significativo de los pensadores griegos fue, sin duda alguna, enseñarnos a reflexionar. Pensar cualquiera, pero, si hablamos de usar categorías de análisis, eso sí está más complicado.
La reflexión es colocar al pensamiento en un segundo nivel; implica, entonces, usar categorías teóricas para descomponer y reconstruir un objeto de conocimiento a partir de dotarle sentido y referencia.
La reflexión como ejercicio teórico posibilita ordenar los fenómenos que, en un principio, aparecen caóticamente.
Carl Sagan ejemplifica la posibilidad del conocimiento con la metáfora del Universo autoconsciente. El ser humano es la parte del todo que puede apropiar el sentido de las cosas desde su racionalidad.
Las diferentes áreas de conocimiento, ahora abordadas desde una perspectiva interdisciplinaria, han tenido teóricos que han construido horizontes de comprensión importantes.
Hoy llegamos al cierre de Recrea Academy. Foro que suspende las actividades de las escuelas oficiales de educación básica de Jalisco para presentar reflexiones en torno a la práctica educativa. Los ponentes son académicos jaliscienses (en su mayoría), y hasta educadores de otras latitudes.
Recrea se define como un congreso educativo internacional que persigue la innovación e impulso de las estructuras educativas a través del fortalecimiento de sus prácticas.
Al respecto tenemos varias preguntas. Si una premisa fundamental de las comunidades de aprendizaje es la atención de los problemas de sus colonias, lo expuesto en el Congreso ¿cómo ayuda a la búsqueda de soluciones? ¿La construcción de la agenda de expositores parte de un diagnóstico y atiende las necesidades reales del magisterio? ¿Dónde está la rendición de cuentas, sobre todo, de cómo su política educativa fortalece el libre desarrollo de niñas, niños y adolescentes?
Hoy pudimos encontrar muchas respuestas. La penúltima conferencia del escenario principal la daría Peter McLaren. Lo que pudo ser el gran acierto de Recrea 2024, se convirtió en una pifia que hasta podemos catalogar como una tremenda falta de educación.
McLaren es un promotor de la pedagogía crítica. La escuela, en esta perspectiva, es el centro, es donde reconocemos cuáles son las estructuras o monopolios dominantes para que, por medio de los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje, los educandos adquieran una perspectiva crítica; la escuela es y debe ser el lugar donde aprendemos a reflexionar. La escuela es un lugar que garantiza la libertad.
Un expositor de ese tamaño merecía un mejor trato, pero, en cambio, a los organizadores les pareció conveniente presentar una conferencia en línea sin un preámbulo digno y sin traducción simultánea.
Los veladores de la educación en Jalisco nos quitaron de tajo la posibilidad de escuchar una reflexión significativa por no resolver cosas técnicas de forma y fondo. Bueno, ¿qué le podemos pedir a un gobierno que de eso no sabe nada?
Peter, hermano, discúlpanos. Fortaleceremos nuestro inglés para poder escuchar y reflexionar a la par.

The most significant merit of the Greek thinkers was, without a doubt, to teach us to reflect. Anyone can think, but if we talk about using categories of analysis, that is more complicated.
Reflection is placing thought on a second level; it implies, then, using theoretical categories to break down and reconstruct an object of knowledge by giving it meaning and reference.
Reflection as a theoretical exercise makes it possible to order phenomena that, at first, appear chaotically.
Carl Sagan exemplifies the possibility of knowledge with the metaphor of the self-conscious Universe. The human being is the part of the whole that can appropriate the meaning of things from its rationality.
The different areas of knowledge, now approached from an interdisciplinary perspective, have had theorists who have built important horizons of understanding.
Today we come to the close of Recrea Academy. Forum that suspends the activities of the official schools of basic education of Jalisco to present reflections on educational practice. The speakers are mostly academics from Jalisco, and even educators from other latitudes.
Recrea defines itself as an international educational congress that pursues innovation and the promotion of educational structures through the strengthening of their practices.
In this regard, we have several questions. If a fundamental premise of the learning communities is to address the problems of their colonies, how does what is presented at the Congress help in the search for solutions? Does the construction of the speakers’ agenda start from a diagnosis and address the real needs of the teaching profession? Where is the accountability, above all, of how their educational policy strengthens the free development of girls, boys and adolescents?
Today we were able to find many answers. The penultimate conference on the main stage was given by Peter McLaren. What could have been the great success of Recrea 2024, turned into a blunder that we can even classify as a tremendous lack of education.
McLaren is a promoter of critical pedagogy. The school, in this perspective, is the center, it is where we recognize which are the dominant structures or monopolies so that, through the teaching-learning processes, the students acquire a critical perspective; the school is and should be the place where we learn to reflect. The school is a place that guarantees freedom.
A speaker of that size deserved better treatment, but, instead, the organizers thought it convenient to present an online conference without a decent preamble and without simultaneous translation.
The education watchmen in Jalisco took away from us the possibility of listening to a meaningful reflection by not resolving technical issues of form and substance. Well, what can we ask of a government that knows nothing about this?
Peter, brother, forgive us. We will strengthen our English to be able to listen and reflect at the same time.
